General Questions and Discussions
Here is a little kick-start guide to starting your own blog
.
It might help to know that there are two main types of submissions, blog entries and comments. You can leave your comments on almost any page by filling in the comment form at the bottom of the page.
Comments are attached to other blog entries and book pages and do not appear in your blog unless posted in response to a blog entry.
To create a blog entry, Select the "Create Content" link at the top of the left hand column. It should appear under your user name. Blog entries are listed chronologically in your blog and can be viewed by anyone by simply clicking on your name. In addition, a blog entry is posted chronologically with entries from other blogs on the "Recently Blogged" page accessible via a link at the top and bottom of every page. In some cases, your blog entries will also appear in the "Builder's Links" and "Builder's Book" sections of the site.
There are several types of blog entries. At the time of this writing, bloggers have the choice of posting a general purpose "blog entry", a "project announcement", a "trip report", or a "weblink". If you have other suggestions, please post them as a comment to this forum.
Feel free to use the "email this page" link at the bottom of a post to tell friends and family that you have updated your blog.
