Welcome

Hi, welcome to boatbloggers.com. This is a new site that aims to help boat builders share and discuss their projects and connect with other builders, as well as become a valuable reference for builders who want to expand their knowledge.

What is a boat blogger?
A boat blogger is someone who keeps an online record of their boating life. Someone who enjoys building boats and sharing their lessons and experience with others.

Why blog?
Think of a blog as an online journal, a place where you can record thoughts, research findings, and pictures. Since it is online, friends can check in and see the status at any time, and other builders can leave comments, suggestions and answers to your questions. It sort of becomes your boat building home on the net.

Why here?
This is a free service. If it gets popular, I'll probably put google text ads on the site to help pay for hosting, but I won't charge you.

You'll get a place to store your pictures of your boats that you can share with friends and families and reference in discussion boards here and on other sites.

There are a few technical features here to help organize and build a knowledge base for future boat builders. For example, a boating glossary that helps new builders learn the vocabulary as they read posts, a collaborative book that organizes posts by topic, and taxonomies that help members categorize their journal entries. It may seem technical or complex, but it mostly happens behind the scenes. I hope you'll give it a try.

I've already got a site, should I stick around?
I sure hope you do. You might register and add a link to your site in our weblinks directory. We'll keep track of it and let visitors know when your site has been updated.
